Who we are
The Institute of Goodness (Universal Goodness Foundation; registered address: 267, Nirmal Bagh, Block B, Gali No. 11, Visthapit, Rishikesh, Uttarakhand). In this declaration, “we” means the Institute.
What we ask you for, and why
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Your email address | To sign you in and send you your one-time code |
| Your first name (optional) | To greet you and put your name on your score card |
| Your age group | To choose questions that suit your stage of life, and to protect children |
| Your gender (optional) | To word questions in a way that suits you |
| Your profession, and whether you live in a rural, semi-rural or urban area | To ask questions about situations you actually face |
| Your answers, scores and weekly acts | To work out your score, show your progress over time and suggest what to do next |
We do not ask for your address, caste, religion, income or any government ID. A mobile number is used only if you choose to sign in with it.
How we use it
Only to score you, show your progress, personalise your questions and your plan, and send your sign-in code. If you choose reminders, we also email you when it is time for your next check. We never sell your data. There is no advertising on the Goodness Score, and nobody who advertises ever sees your data.
Where it is stored
On servers in Mumbai, India. Sign-in codes are delivered by Resend, an email delivery service.
Artificial intelligence
To make your questions fit your life, we use an AI service (Groq, with Google Gemini as a backup). It receives only your profession, your area type, your age group and the wording of the questions. It never receives your name, your email address or your answers. Neither receives anything that identifies you. Google may use what it receives through its free Gemini service to improve its products.
Your choices
- Download everything we hold about you, from your dashboard.
- Delete your account: everything stored about you is removed, not hidden.
- Withdraw your research consent at any time.
- Share your score or keep it to yourself: a score card is made on your own device and nothing is posted unless you post it.
Research (optional, off unless you switch it on)
If you tick the research box, we may study your answers, with your identity removed, to build the Goodness Index™. You can switch this off whenever you like. Anything already combined into anonymous results cannot be taken back out, because nobody can tell which part was yours.
Children
If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must agree before you can create an account. A person under 18 must confirm that a parent or guardian has read this declaration and agrees, and we record when this was confirmed. If a parent or guardian tells us they did not agree, write to info@instituteofgoodness.org and we will delete the account.
How long we keep it
Until you delete your account. Accounts not signed in to for 9 months are deleted automatically, with everything stored in them.
How we protect it
Your data travels and is stored encrypted. Each account can see only its own information. Only the Institute's technology team can open the database, through accounts protected by two-step sign-in.
Questions or complaints
Write to info@instituteofgoodness.org. Person responsible for privacy complaints: the Institute's privacy team, info@instituteofgoodness.org.
Changes to this declaration
If we change it, we will ask you to read and accept the new version before you carry on. We keep a record of which version you accepted and when.
